The ASX 200 is up 0.6% on Friday. However, over the week, the index has fallen 1.7% - on track to record its first weekly losses after seven weeks of gains.

Almost all sectors lost ground on Thursday sending the ASX 200 down 44 points or 0.8% to 5,278.

US sharemarkets recovered from lows on Wednesday. But investors remained cautious ahead of the OPEC meeting on Thursday and jobs data on Friday. After being down by 122 points, the Dow rose by 2.5 points or less than 0.1%. The  S&P 500 index rose by 0.1% while the Nasdaq gained 4 points or 0.1%.
