US sharemarkets were mixed on Thursday with banks and retailers weaker while tech stocks rose modestly. Shares in department store Macy's fell by 13.9% with Kohl's down 19% after both companies cut profit forecasts. At the close of trade, the Dow Jones index was lower by 43 points or 0.2%. The S&P 500 index eased by 0.1% but the Nasdaq lifted by 11 points or 0.2%.
