The ASX 200 has had its best day in 2 weeks with a 2.45% rally as banks did much of the heavy lifting. The index closed at the best levels in three months as global optimism helps drive equity markets higher. Gains could have been more substantial if it wasn’t for losses among, healthcare, tech and gold miners.

Finally, the Aussie market will be closed on Monday for the Queen’s Birthday holiday. Some shorter-term investors might be positioning for the long-weekend as they won’t be able to react to the weekend’s news flow. Tonight, the key non-farm payrolls report will be released.
